With the theme “Connected Ecosystem in Building the IoT-Ready Philippines”, IoTCon 2024 aims to strengthen the Philippines’ position in the world of IoT.
The Goal of IoTCon 2024
According to Packetworx’s Chief Marketing Officer, Raisa Orbon, the conference’s main goal is to expand IoT in the Philippines by encouraging collaboration. By bringing local and international experts together, IoTCon 2024 helps participants exchange ideas and explore new tech innovations. With support from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Browan Communications, this event is set to accelerate digital transformation in key areas like public services, smart city initiatives, and disaster response.
Exciting Features and Sessions
Building on past success, IoTCon 2024 offers a wider range of discussions and events. “This year, we’ve expanded our focus and added more in-depth content,” Orbon said. One highlight is the roundtable discussions where participants can interact directly with members of the LoRa Alliance, government agencies, and key industry leaders.
The DICT shared its vision for an IoT-ready Philippines during the opening talks, while Packetworx’s CEO, Arnold Bagabaldo, discussed progress in IoT and the need for cooperation between the government, private sector, and international partners.
Spotlight on LoRa Technology
A central theme this year is the role of LoRa (Long Range) technology, known for its ability to enable long-range, low-power IoT solutions. LoRa is essential for applications like smart city systems, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. Alper Yegin, the Interim CEO of the LoRa Alliance, highlighted the organization’s work in promoting the LoRaWAN standard, which is making IoT technology more adaptable to global needs. Henry Huang, CEO of Browan Communications, also shared insights into how IoT networks can be sustainably integrated and scaled.
A Gathering of Innovators and Experts
Over 3,000 attendees will have the chance to network with top global and local IoT leaders, and more than 50 exhibitors are set to showcase the latest IoT advancements. The event includes live demonstrations that bring IoT applications to life, giving participants a first-hand look at the future of connected technology.
