Samsung introduced its latest flagship smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23, ushering in a new era of the brand's ultimate premium phone experience.
The Galaxy S23 series raises the bar on premium technology that enhances lives and the planet. In the Galaxy S23 Ultra, 12 internal and external components are made from recycled materials. The Galaxy S23 series uses more recycled materials than any other Galaxy phone, including pre-consumer recycled aluminum and glass and post-consumer recycled plastics from fishing nets, PET bottles, and water barrels.
We are not seeing any significant improvements to the new Galaxy S-series lineup compared to their predecessors. The most significant shift is the use of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in replacement of the company's own Exynos chips in all variants.
In terms of display, it has been enhanced but remains comparable to previous models. It uses Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with Full HD+ resolution, and up to 120Hz refresh rates. Also, it's the first of its kind to use the toughened Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The screen size on the S23 model is rather modest at only 6.1 inches, whereas on the Plus model, it's a larger 6.6 inches, and the Ultra version has a large 6.8-inch QHD+ edge display.
Samsung Galaxy's Enhanced Comfort feature reduces nighttime screen strain by adjusting color tones and contrast. The vision booster now adjusts at three illumination levels instead of two to combat sun brightness and glare during the day.
The Galaxy S23 series is powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform, the most powerful and efficient and fastest chipset available today.
A newly designed CPU micro architecture improves the Galaxy S23 series' processing capabilities by about 30% compared to the Galaxy S22 series. Using an AI technique, its extremely efficient NPU design has been enhanced by 49% to balance performance and power. The improved GPU, which is about 41% faster than the GPU in the Galaxy 22 series and was created with power users in mind, is one of the most significant improvements to the Galaxy S23 series.
The Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S23+ sports a 50-megapixel camera that can shoot 8K videos at 30fps. While the Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts a new 200-megapixel Adaptive Pixel sensor. the Galaxy S23 series introduces fast autofocus and our first Super HDR selfie camera, jumping from 30fps to 60fps, for noticeably better front-facing images and videos.
