Supercell, the creators of Brawl Stars, felt that SpongeBob’s humor and energy made him a perfect fit for their game. In this special event, SpongeBob and his friends from Bikini Bottom are reimagined as Brawlers.
You’ll see characters like a buff El Primo SpongeBob, alongside other fan favorites like Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, and Sandy. Players can fight it out in a new Bikini Bottom map, with special power-ups like the Krabby Patty, Clarinet, and Kelp Soda to boost damage. There are also new themed game modes, such as “Jellyfishing,” where players battle to catch jellyfish in a chaotic competition.
The event’s launch was kicked off with a hilarious commercial featuring John Cena. Known for his wrestling career and larger-than-life personality, Cena brings his signature charm to the ad. He’s seen relaxing on a yacht while playing Brawl Stars, only to have his phone fall into the ocean—a fitting moment for a SpongeBob takeover.
“As someone who’s been a fan of Supercell games and SpongeBob for years, this partnership hit all the right notes for me,” Cena said. “SpongeBob in Brawl Stars is absolutely wild, and I love it. It’s the perfect entertainment mashup fans have been waiting for!”
Frank Keienburg, General Manager of Brawl Stars, shared his excitement, saying, “We’ve been thinking about bringing SpongeBob into Brawl Stars for a while. Both Bikini Bottom and our game’s world of Starr Park are a great match. Our players love SpongeBob memes, so we knew they’d enjoy this collaboration. It’s been so much fun for our team to bring this idea to life.”
Doug Rosen, SVP of Games and Emerging Media at Paramount, added, "Combining SpongeBob SquarePants with Brawl Stars is a fantastic way to unite two fan-favorite worlds. We’re thrilled to see players enjoy their favorite Bikini Bottom characters in the fast-paced action of Brawl Stars.”
Players everywhere can download Brawl Stars on iOS or Android and dive into this exciting SpongeBob takeover for a fun, splash-filled adventure!
